Cardfight!! Vanguard is a popular trading card game where players build decks of cards representing different units and engage in battles with each other using those units. The game was first introduced in Japan in 2011 by Bushiroad, and has since gained a significant following worldwide.
There are several different formats for playing Vanguard, each with its own rules and restrictions. The most common format is Standard, which uses only the most recent sets of cards and has a limited card pool. Premium is another popular format that allows players to use any card ever released in the game, which allows for a wider range of deckbuilding possibilities.
The community is an essential part of the Vanguard experience, as it allows players to connect with each other, share strategies and tips, and participate in tournaments and events. The community is also responsible for creating and maintaining resources such as decklists, card databases, and online forums, which help players stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the game.
In addition, the community plays a critical role in shaping the game's development, as player feedback and input are often taken into account by the game's creators when designing new sets and making balance changes.
Overall, the Vanguard community is an integral part of the game, providing a supportive and engaging environment for players to connect, compete, and enjoy the game together.
Vanguard consists of three formats: Standard, V-Premium and Premium.
Standard and V-premium are enclosed formats where you can only play the cards released for that format. Indicated by the V or D mark at the bottom of the card.
The V-premium format introduces Imaginary gift markers which give you a powerup every time you ride your vanguard with the Imaginary gift icon!
The Standard format includes the ride deck, separate from your normal deck, which allows you to ride the cards you want consistently, every game!
The Premium format is the expanded format where you can combine cards from all formats to make any deck that you like. This format also includes the G-zone, which consists of Grade 4 units that allow you to temporarily ride a new vanguard from it, turning into a powerful new unit with very strong abilities!
